Lurline “Frances” Hill, 76, Arose into the Heavens Above on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She was born June 20, 1943, the second of seven children to Charles and Margaret Hill. She attended Oceanway School and Andrew Jackson High. She married George A. Ferreira, Jr. in June 1960 and they were the loving parents of two wonderful sons, Georgie and Scotty. They divorced after 17 years of marriage. She had a loving and giving heart and helped many people over the years. She opened her home to a number of family members and friends that needed a place to stay, which was a blessing to so many. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Dunn’s Creek Baptist Church. She was also a talented baker and cake decorator and shared her delicious creations with family and friends, making ordinary days into sweet memories. She worked at Federal Bake Shop in Jacksonville before moving to the Atlanta, Georgia area where she worked for Brill, Inc., traveling around the southeast training cake decorators in area grocery stores. In Georgia, she was married to Danny Floyd for nearly 20 years before divorcing and moving back to Jacksonville. After returning to Jacksonville, she worked at Kuhn Flowers in Customer Service and shared her home with, and was caregiver for, her sister Jeannie for 5 years until her death from Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in August 2000. Frances loved beautiful things and especially, the color blue, just as her eyes were. Blue Delphinium was her favorite flower. She made many beautiful cross-stitch pieces as well as crochet gifts for the family. She also entered craft shows and won many blue ribbons for her work. She loved Holiday gatherings with family and friends and especially looked forward to decorating for Christmas. She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her sons, George Al Ferreira III in 1989 and Bradley Scott Ferreira in 2015, her brother Bob Hill, sister Jeannie Hill, her granddaughter Amy Grace Ferreira in 2007, niece Angie Senterfitt, and great-niece Brandi Edwards. She is survived by her brother Ernie Hill, sisters Betty Walker, Debbie Weinberg (Mike), and Shari Badal (Michael McGowan). Her daughter-In-Law Joyce Whitley, her granddaughter Nikki Whitley-Smith and her great-granddaughter Shelby Lynn Ferreira. Nephews and nieces, Dwain, Marty, and Michael Senterfitt, Denise Senterfitt-Campbell, Barbara Senterfitt-Pruitt, Beverly Senterfitt-Mazza, John Wooley, Clint Weinberg, Brittany Badal, Gabby Roland-Johnson & many great nephews & nieces Across Florida & Georgia that she cherished greatly. Due to the coronavirus, memorial services will be held at a later date.
