Mabrine H Griswold

     Mabrine Griswold, 85, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 21, 2020. She was born in Walton County, Florida on July 20, 1935 to the late Ray and Noma Hawkins. She graduated from Leon High School in Tallahassee, Florida where she met the love of her life, Larry Griswold, Sr. At the time of his death they had been married for 45 years. They had two children; Wanda Sherrine (Sherry) Griswold and Larry Price Griswold, Jr.

Mabrine worked most of her life as an office manager. In the late 80”s she and her husband established the family business, Griswold Concrete. Mabrine was also president of the PTA at Highlands and Pine Estates Elementary schools, a member of the Cherry Laurel Garden Club, a Star Point in the Eastern Star, she started the Blue Birds at Highlands Baptist Church, was a member of the Ribault Lions Club and team mother of the Little League and Pop Warner baseball. Mabrine loved traveling, painting, spending time with her family, listening to her gospel music and to Elvis.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Griswold; son, Larry P. Griswold; grandchildren, Wanda Ammons (John), Jerry Bishop (Stephanie), Bobbi Belgrano (Mauricio), and Keri Merkle (Stratton); great grandchildren, Alyssa S. Anderson, Price Bishop, Kylie Bishop (Isaac), Logan Bishop, Seth Ammons, Shawn Ammons, Hadassah Belgrano, Gale Merkle, and more on the way.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 12 pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends on Thursday at 11 am, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
