Margaret Estelle Avant

           On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, Margaret Estelle Avant, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away at the age of 90 after a period of declining health.

Margaret was born on April 26, 1931 in Price Creek Township, North Carolina. She was a homemaker, a skilled seamstress and had a green thumb for gardening. She enjoyed watching her soap operas and football. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by many friends and loved ones.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lloyd "Dick" Avant; her father and mother, James Gudger and Cindy (Pate) McIntosh; five sisters, Mary Elizabeth Tipton, Cora Amanda Robinson, Pansy Lee McIntosh, Judy Marie Phillips and Sarah Louise Holcomb. She is survived by her sons, Bruce James Avant and Billy Ray Avant; granddaughter, Cara Lena Avant; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 10, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cedar Bay Funeral Home - 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Florida. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Hucksfield Cemetery - Pleasant Hill Drive, Hemingway, South Carolina.
