Margaret Lois Phelps died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. The second child and daughter of James Herbert and Grace Irene Trowbridge, she was born on September 24, 1929 in Seminole Florida. She married the love of her life, Henry Pasco Phelps Jr. (Pat) on September 11, 1949 and together they raised seven children mostly in Jacksonville, Florida. She will be remembered as a talented seamstress who could craft anything from baby clothes to commercial draperies, a hardworking teacher and store cashier, and a dedicated church secretary. But most of all she will be loved as the best Mom and Mema in the world. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years and her son James. She is survived by her older sister Maudie, two daughters Marilyn Parrish and Sallie Payne Joseph, and four sons Henry (Pat), Richard, Michael, and Samuel, fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is loved and missed by all of these as well as the sons and daughters-in-law she loved and welcomed into this large family. Funeral services are scheduled at Cedar Bay Funeral Home (New Berlin Rd) on Thursday December 16 with viewing at 11:00 and services at 12:00. Pastor Maggie McDuffie, Wesley Fellowship UMC will be presiding. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
