Our dearly loved Marion Poole Davis, 96, went to be with our Lord and
Savior the morning of Friday, August 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving
family. She was a faithful servant at Wingate Road Baptist church for many
years. She was born September 4, 1927, in Wrightsville, GA, to George
Cleveland Poole, Sr. and Emma Claude Rawls. In addition to her parents,
she was also preceded in death by her siblings Walter [Margie] Poole,
James Dawson [Myrtle] Poole, Wade [Lois] Poole, Juanita [James] Jordan,
Janette [Gordon] Flanders, George Cleveland [Gracie] Poole, Jr, and
Talmadge [Shirley] Poole.
Marion married the love of her life, Tholon Davis, on September 11,1947;
he preceded her in death in 2018. She is survived by their 3 children:
Dianne [Wayne] Bishop, Don [Kimberly] Davis, and Christopher [Tracy]
Davis. She was blessed to have the love and admiration of her 12
grandchildren: Aaron Bishop, Jason [Jennifer] Bishop, Adam Bishop, Paul
[Brittney] Bishop, Aimee [Jonathan] Miller, Bryan [Jessica] Davis, Timothy
[Sarah] Davis, Andrew [Cynthia] Davis, Kathryn [Nae] Davis, Ryan Davis,
Easton Davis, and Dawn [Casey] Nettles. Marion also is survived by their
24 great-grandchildren and 2 GrGr-grandchildren, along with her youngest
sister Martha ‘Peggy’ [Wallace] Greer, Dublin, GA; siblings-in-law Algie
[Farie] Davis, Macclenny, Patsy [Lee] Boyette, Fernandina Beach, and
numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The Davis family wish to express their gratitude to mom’s amazing
caregivers Faith, J.J, and Katelynn for the love and care they have
provided this past year.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 14 in the chapel
of Cedar Bay Funeral Home. Visitation with family with be held from 9:00-
10am [1 hour before service] with the service starting at 10:00am.
Interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery following the service
starting about 11:30am.
