Mark S. Sackville Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 3, 2025, just shy of his 67th birthday in Jacksonville, Florida. His passing comes as a profound loss to all.
Born on February 8, 1958, in Hammond, Indiana, He grew up surrounded by love and laughter alongside his siblings. Mark was the firstborn son of Mary Sue Sackville (McCullom) and Charles S. Sackville, who preceded him in death along with his brother Michael Sackville and sister Melanie Cotillier. Mark is survived by three devoted sisters: Debbie Dickerson (Dwain), Denise Morris, and Melissa Sackville.
In his youth, Mark proudly served in the United States Navy—a commitment that shaped much of who he became. After an honorable discharge from military service, he transitioned into civilian life with an unwavering dedication to hard work. Throughout his career, he formed lasting friendships that enriched both his professional life and personal spirit.
Mark's heart belonged not only to work but also to family; he was a loving father to Mark Sackville Jr., who carries forward the legacy of kindness instilled by his father. Additionally surviving are four stepdaughters: Stephanie, Jessica, Christina, and Victoria—all of whom were loved deeply by their stepfather.
An avid Florida Gator fan who bled Orange and Blue, Mark found great joy in simple pleasures like a fat cigar, golfing with friends or fishing with the grandkids in their ornamental pond--a treasured spot where countless memories were made —Mark embraced every moment.
Tragically coinciding with Mark’s passing was that of his wife Brenda Sackville (Williams)—the love of his life—with whom he shared 14 Grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren and more than 25 years of hopes, dreams, and adventures. Together they navigated life's peaks and valleys side by side until their final moments.
As we remember Mark S. Sackville Sr., let us celebrate not just the years he lived but also the love he shared, the laughter, and above all else—the lasting impression he left within our hearts forevermore.
