Clark – Martelle M. Clark, age 72, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026.
Born on October 3, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, Martelle was the beloved daughter of Johnny and Nell McKinney. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and went on to build a successful career as a Systems Programmer with Prudential, where she dedicated 25 years of service. Martelle was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Nell McKinney; and brothers, Ervil “Mac” McKinney and Ervin McKinney.
Martelle will be remembered for her generous spirit, her willingness to serve her church, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She found joy in the beauty of flowers and butterflies, and she had a deep love for music that brought happiness to her life and those around her. Her faith, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will remain an enduring legacy.
Martelle is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Rodger Clark; her son, Rodger Clark Jr. (Susan); her grandson, Austin Clark (Jennifer); sister, Darlene Johns; brother, John McKinney (Barb); and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Martelle’s love, generosity, and gentle spirit touched countless lives. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A Celebration of Martelle’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Oceanway, 212 Sago Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they gather to celebrate Martelle’s life and cherish the many memories she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the memorial donations be made to Community Hospice or First Baptist Church of Oceanway in Martelle’s honor.
