Martine LaVake Chaplauske, 78, of Yulee, Florida passed away from heart failure on January 4, 2021. She was born July 20, 1942 in St. Ignace, Michigan to John and Susan Lavake (Boissoneau) of Moran, Michigan. Martine grew up on a farm in Allenville, Michigan, now called Moran. She graduated from Rudyard High School in Rudyard, Michigan. She attended Flint Business School and Jacksonville Florida Junior College. She worked at Southern Bell in Florida, Sears and Patterson Dental.
She married Tony Chaplauske on September 28, 1963. They made their home in Yulee, Florida. They built their own home and had Wildlife Management all around them. She was in the Red Hat Society, Black Hat Dive Daylilies Club. She enjoyed cutting her own lawn, planting flowers and taking her little dog, Chrissy for rides in her truck and rides around the pond in a Kawasaki mule and in the wood trails.
In addition to her parents, Martine was preceded in death by her husband, Tony in 2014 and her oldest son John in 2018. She is survived by son, Steve Chaplauske and wife Nikie; daughter, Theresa A. Pace, husband Joe and grandsons, Holden and Mason Pace, Rob and Christopher Wilson, Hunter Chaplauske, son of John Chaplauske and wife, Debra.
Burial will be Friday, January 22, 2021 at 2pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
