Mary Lavon Deen

Mary Lavon Deen, 88, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022. She was born in Waycross, Georgia on July 12, 1933, to the late William and Nora (Sturges) Jordan and has lived in Jacksonville most of her life. She worked in data processing for CSX until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Dinsmore Church of God where she was a devoted servant to the Lord. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Rolie Deen, and son, Ralph Ronald Deen; brothers, Johnny Jordan and James Jordan; sisters, Gladys Navickas, Bessie Jordan, Evelyn King, and Verna Mae (Virginia Rae) Cothren. Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Deen Morrissey (Patrick) and Mary Deen- Cioffi; son, Kevin Deen (Tami) and daughter-in-law Susan Deen; grandchildren, Tracey Morrissey, John Crumpler, Monique Hernandez, Ronald Lee (Ronnie) Deen, Kyndal Deen, Koby Deen, and Rionna Deen; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Marr, Hailey Crumpler, Gia Hernandez, and AJ Hernandez; great-great-grandchild, Caleb Allen and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 11 am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Matthew Griffis officiating. Interment will follow at Hughes Cemetery, Yulee, Florida. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the funeral home from 6 pm until 8 pm.
