Mary Ann Flynn

Mary Ann Flynn of Jacksonville FL, passed away on July 28, 2023 at the age of 96. She died
peacefully at home with the care of her two daughters, Kathleen and Maureen.
Mary was born on February 1, 1927 to James and Elsie Dougherty in Newark, NJ. Mary
graduated from Caldwell High School, Caldwell, NJ. Before getting married, Mary worked as a
supervisor for the telephone company when calls had to go through a telephone operator.
In 1948, Mary met Daniel Patrick Flynn. Mary and Daniel went on to have six children: James,
Terrance, Kathleen, Thomas, Maureen and Patrick. She spent the rest of her life as a wonderful
fulltime mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary lived most of her life in New Jersey
before moving to Florida in 1984.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband Daniel, two sons James and Terrance a
granddaughter Johanna and two brothers Frank and James. She is survived by daughters
Kathleen Safreed (Bob), Maureen Esposito and sons Thomas Flynn (Jennifer) and Patrick Flynn.
As well as 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and two sisters Peggy and Maureen.
Mass Service will be held at St Patrick Catholic Church, 601 Airport Center Dr E, Jacksonville Fl
on Wednesday August 9 th at 11:00am followed by funeral service at Jacksonville National
Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville Fl at 1:30pm. Family will receive friends on Wednesday
morning at 10 am at the church.
