Mary Eloise Horne

Mary Eloise Horne (Eloise) was born in Erso, Louisiana. Eloise passed away peacefully into the care and comfort of heaven on June 21, 2024, at the age of 91. She was married to the love of her life, Roy Ralph Horne, who passed away only 6 months prior; they were married for 73 years. They enjoyed Sundays with their church family at Heavenly Heights Baptist Church. Eloise loved Jesus and singing in the choir. Eloise was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and faithful friend to many.  She treasured time with her family the most.  She was an example to all of what a mother's love truly looked like.  May we pass on her legacy through the generations. Her smile would light up the room, and laughter would fill the air as she entertained everyone with her humor and stories. She was employed by JC Penney's from 1965- 1988 (23 yrs). She was loved and honored by those she worked for, with, and those who worked for her. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Horne; father Charlie Banks; Mother Clara McNair; sisters Margie Johnson, Hazel Starling, and Joyce Hansen; brothers Gene Banks and Chuck McNair; and great-grandson Nathan Kato. She is survived by brother Michael McNair, sisters Frances Mosley and Sandy Segars, daughters Cathy Cleaves, Carol Pigg (James), sons Roy Ralph Horne, Jr (Colette), Mark Horne (Rhonda), grandchildren--13, great-grandchildren--28.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, at 11 am at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville, FL, with Chaplin Jackie Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family is inviting friends to join them at The Journey Church in Hillard.
