Mary G. Smith

Smith - Mary N. Smith, age 88, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on June 14, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was born on November 19, 1936, and she lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

Throughout her 88 years, Mary was a beacon of grace and resilience. Those who knew her were continually inspired by her generous spirit and steadfast devotion to her faith. Her life was a testament to the power of spreading the gospel of Jesus, genuine love and grace, devotion to family, and perseverance. She touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary’s strength carried her through life’s many challenges, always with humility and gratitude. She remained a source of comfort and wisdom to her family and friends throughout her life. Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack Dempsey Smith; daughters, Rebecca Morris, Beverly Smith; parents, Warner and Opal Grizzard; brother, Bobby Grizzard; and sister, Sylvia Gariepy.

Mary is survived by her children, Cathy Mullis (Charles), Pamela Cribbs (Ronnie), Jeff Smith, Misty Smith-Turner (Bryan);  grandchildren, Ron Morris, Joy Reichenberg (Nathan), Heather Bush (Gabe), Chuck Mullis (Valerie), Tyler Nelson (Andrew), Katrina Cribbs, Jackson Lee; great-grandchildren, Michael, Natalie, Russell, Hannah, Luke, Desmond, Jude, Dempsey, Dax, Dove Sister, and Betty Cushman (Joe).

A service to celebrate Mary Smith’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at North Harbor Church, 422 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. The Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at the church. Committal will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. The lineup will begin at 1:30 p.m. in lane 1.
