Mary Wilson Taylor

Taylor – Mary Wilson Taylor, age 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on June 2, 2026. She was one of two daughters who were born into the family of Thomas and Lucille Wilson. Mary was born on December 4, 1940, in St. Petersburg, Florida. She had one sister, Bennie Lu Owens. Mary’s mother, Lucille was a housewife, while Thomas, her father, was a life-long professional in the United States Coast Guard.

Mary’s optimistic approach to life opened many doors for her not only to be a very successful professional model, but the owner of four clothing stores filled with the latest fashions in women’s clothing. Mary became a highly recognized director of sales for a large hotel in Jacksonville. She went on to become a successful television personality on her own TV program on ACTS the (American Christian Television System). She also became a highly successful development director of collecting financial support for the Baptist Home for Children. Mary made nothing become something. Mary took something from a lower level to a higher level. Mary moved something good to become something better all because Mary was a cockeyed optimist.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur Taylor; son, Shane; daughter, Renee; stepson, Marcus; sister, Bennie Lu Owens; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A beautiful life, beautifully lived. Mary will be missed and loved always.

A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Highlands Baptist Church, 2159 Broward Road, Jacksonville, FL, with Rev. Dr. Arthur F. Taylor, Rev. Ryan Colbert, Rev. Ken Gray, Rev. Roger Taylor, Rev. Bill Caverly, Rev. Dr. Wayne Rowbottom, and Rev. Dr. Kendall Anderson officiating.
