With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Matthew Joseph Cancienne, who was born on August 10, 1980, and left this world on February 4, 2025, at the age of 44. Though his journey ended too soon, Matthew’s kind heart, gentle soul, and deep love for his family and friends will always be remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his sisters Jennifer Auger and Nicole Bertone, brothers-in-law Lee Auger and Joey Bertone, niece and nephews, and aunts and uncles who will forever hold his memory close. His presence brought warmth and light, and his absence leaves an unfillable space in the hearts of his family and friends.
While we grieve the loss of Matthew, we also celebrate the time we had with him – the moments of joy, the conversations, and the quiet strength he carried.
As the family navigates this difficult time, they humbly ask for donations to help cover funeral expenses. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would be deeply appreciated. Donations can be sent directly to https://gofund.me/f0a54d8d.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Matthew’s life. The family is grateful for the love and support of those who knew and cared for him. May he rest in peace.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home
