Matthew Everett McCance
November 27, 1984 – October 30, 2022
Matthew E. McCance, 37, beloved son, brother, nephew and friend, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022, after a sudden unexpected illness. Matthew was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where he worked as a transporter for Jax Port. He was an entrepreneur by trade, he loved fixing up motorcycles to sell and trade and was the most talented mechanic and handyman. There simply wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Matthew was the son of Everett and Gail McCance. He was a family man who loved his family and his friends dearly. Especially his two favorite nephews, Rylen and Carter.
Matthew is preceded in death by his older sister, Amanda Gail, his maternal grandparents, John and Jo Bennett and Carolyn Maddox (Bennett), and his paternal grandparents, Dudley and Vera McCance.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Everett and Gail McCance; sister, Miranda Nelson (Brandon), his favorite nephews Rylen and Carter, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00am at Cedar Bay Funeral Home; 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Florida, with Rev. George Kratochvill officiating. Family will receive friends starting one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery.
