O’Brien - Merrilou Janet O’Brien, age 86, went to her heavenly home on November 5, 2025. A member of Duval Station Baptist Church, Merrilou cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene O’Brien; daughter, Betty Sue O’Brien; son-in-law, Edward Moody; grandson, Michael Buckner; brothers, Andy, John, Hulon, and Gary; and sisters, Jean and Sarah.
Merrilou is survived by her children, Barbara Buckner (Ralph), Mary Moody, and Billy O’Brien (Tammy); grandchildren, Daniel Buckner, Mindy McDaniel, Joseph Moody (Joyce Ann), Jeffrey Moody (Katherine), Josh O’Brien (Shannon), Heather O’Brien and Dalton Thompson; great-grandchildren, Aireana O'Brien, Devon Buckner, Cailey Buckner, Madison McDaniel, Makenzie McDaniel, Isaac Day, Sarah Day, Jacob Moody, Micah Moody, Kayden Moody, and Caleb Moody; and sisters, Vivian Moilanen, Dale Turknett, Wannie Rehberg, and Darlene Shouse (Ricky).
Merrilou will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Merrilou’s Life will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Bay Funeral Home with Pastors Jimmy and Keith Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
