Michael Steven Bracewell

Michael S. Bracewell, 70, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away at his home surrounded by family on February 3, 2023. Michael was born on May 20, 1952, to H.C. & Kay Bracewell in Moniac, Georgia. After graduating from Jackson High School in 1970, Mike went on to a career in Marine Industrial Operations traveling the country until his retirement. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Cathy Baird, in 1970. They went on to have two daughters, Michele, and Stephanie; two grandchildren, Desaray, and Logan, and finally a great-grandson, Truitt. Mike spent his life enjoying the outdoors, hunting in both Florida and South Carolina, fishing the lakes and rivers of Florida, cheering for the Jaguars and Gators, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother Kay Bracewell, father, H.C. Bracewell, baby brother, Brian Bracewell; daughter, Stephanie Smith; nephew, Cody Davis; father-in-law, J.T. Baird, Mother-in-law Eva Baird, brother-in-law Skeeter Buckner, brother-in-law Bill Rainwater, brother-in-law Timmy Canaday, sister-in-law Carol Buckner.

Michael is survived by his wife, Cathy Bracewell; daughter, Michele Knowles (Scott); granddaughter, Desaray Smith; grandson, Logan Knowles; great-grandson, Truitt Kirkus; sisters, Diane Wallace (Don), and Sandra Canaday; brother, Keith Bracewell (Janet) as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Memorial Services for Michael will be held at 5 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin rd. in Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor Matt Rouse officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour before the service.
