Michael Ryan Legge

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must inform you of the unexpected passing of Michael
“Ryan” Legge, of Jacksonville Florida. Ryan was born Sunday, March 2nd, 1986 in South
Carolina as the first son of Michael and Teresa Legge. He peacefully left this world Sunday,
June 2nd, 2024. His last day on earth was spent in the only way that ever truly mattered to him;
with his baby brother, watching the fights.
At the time of his death, Ryan was celebrating an upcoming promotion in his career with
Autozone. There is no doubt he would have succeeded in his new position. We were all so
proud of him. He was proud of himself.
Ryan had such a passion for many things. While those things are not unique in and of
themselves, the passion in which he felt them was uniquely him. To know Ryan was to
anticipate his movie quotes and song lyrics. They were as much a part of him as his name was.
He loved football, but it was more than the game to him. He had to be the biggest Dallas
Cowboys fan ever. His knowledge of them rivaled any involved, undoubtedly including the
owner, coaches, and family members of the players. There were stats, scores, stories, and
secrets he would announce, often unprovoked. Music was an entire language he spoke and it
was cultivated to be personally crafted and shared to each individual relationship he held dear.
Gaming was his passion and he made no excuses for his love of it. It was one of the ties that
bound him to the people he was the closest to. He loved wresting, WWE and UFC, didn’t matter.
He knew all about both. The world is a darker, less funny and more somber place without him.
Not to mention less entertaining as he told all of us what to watch and what music to listen to.
Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Michael Wayne Legge less than six months from his
own passing. He is survived by mother Teresa Diane Legge, his siblings and their children.
Older sister, Cassie (Chuck) Johnson and their daughters: Madison “Ryanne” and Dallas (Clay)
Nelson; as well as their daughters: McKenna and Aurora. Older sister Holli (Kenny) Green and
their children: Dylan, Dalton, Dustin, Emma and Daniel. Baby brother, Erik (Genia) Legge and
their children: Alex, Jules, Link, Sebastian and Zeke. Youngest sister, Alyssa (Jack) Bozman
and their children: Annabella, Cassandra, Dexter and Shawn.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 11 am.  It will be held at Cedar
Bay Funeral Home at 405 New Berlin Rd. It will not be a suit-and-tie affair. That never interested
Ryan. Please attend this final farewell in your favorite jersey and jeans, wrestling/UFC apparel
or costume or representing your favorite video game, or video game character to include cosplay.
