Michael Wayne Legge, 64, of Jacksonville Florida passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2024.
Michael was born on December 27, 1959, to Dorothy and Millard Legge in Kenton, Ohio. He had 5
brothers: Lynn, Bobby, Jimmy, and the twins Ronnie and Donnie. He had 4 sisters: Pam, Beverly “Kay”
Judy and Barbara
Michael served in both the Army and the Navy. He was a paratrooper in the Army and a corpsman in the
Navy. He was one of the select few who was assigned the clean-up detail in the Marshall Islands. This
assignment would later consume much of his time as he was fully invested in overseeing the military’s
acknowledgment and compensation to the members who served at that duty station.
Beyond his military service, Michael was a skilled electrician who worked in many facets of construction.
He would proudly boast that he was a jack of all trades, but a master of one.
Michael is survived by his spouse, Teresa Legge, and their 4 children: Casandra Johnson, Holli Green,
Michael “Ryan” Legge, and Erik Thomas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild and
was expecting a 2nd great-grandchild at the time of his passing.
Michael’s memorial service will be held at Cedar Bay Funeral Home located at 405 New Berlin Rd at
11 am on February 9, 2024, with Pastor David Manning officiating. A military graveside ceremony will follow immediately at the Jacksonville
National Cemetery located at 4083 Lannie Rd at 1 pm.
