Obituary

Tison – Neoma E. Tison , age 87, of Fleming Island, Florida, passed away on May 21, 2026. She was born in Lake Park, Georgia to James and Evelyn McLane on October 26, 1938. Neoma was a loving wife, mother and loyal friend who cherished being involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She loved traveling - seeing 49 out of the 50 states, and never missed a chance to cheer on her Georgia Bulldogs. Neoma was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 62 years, David Tison; and granddaughter, Krystal Tison.

Neoma leaves behind her sons, Alan (Lori) Tison, Robert (Olga) Tison, and Jimmy Tison; sisters, Carolyn Combs and Mary (Jeff) Annsberry; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family members.  

A Celebration of Neoma’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 with Pastor Pete Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Tison’s Dunn Creek Cemetery, 2056 Dunn Creek Cemetery Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Neoma’s memory be mailed to Johnson University, 7900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, TN 37998. Please make check payable to Johnson University and in note section notate “Arthur & Mildred Tison Scholarship Fund”.
