Patricia An Ward (née Dugan), 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, in Yulee, Florida. A fourth-generation Jacksonville native, Patricia was born on October 20, 1934, to Harry Dugan Sr. and Ruth Gardner Dugan, both of whom preceded her in death. Patricia dedicated much of her professional life to public service, retiring from the Duval County Courthouse after many years in the Clerk’s office.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin (Ed) Ward, whom she married in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her son, Edward (Spike) Gustafson III, and her siblings, Harry (Jack) Dugan Jr. and Barbara Turlington. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Jones (Ron); sister-in-law, Runell (Nell) Dugan; grandchildren, Lisa Strahler (Frank), Stephanie Miller (Jimmy), and Kelly Feaster (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Ashley Feaster, Heather Feaster, Nathan Goode (Jessica), Caleb Strahler, Gabriel Miller, Logan Charles, Hailey Goode, Trent Cervantes, Kaiden Miller, and Autumn Feaster; and great-great-grandchildren, Skylar Feaster, Maeve Goode, and Ophelia Roldan. A devoted follower of Christ, Patricia was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She cherished serving in the nursery at Oceanway Baptist Church and was known for her compassionate heart. One of her most meaningful ministries was making quilts for sick and hospitalized individuals, a labor of love that brought warmth and comfort to many. She was also a faithful giver to many charitable organizations that were close to her heart, always seeking to uplift others through her generosity.
Patricia’s legacy of faith, family, and quiet strength will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.
