Paul Wayne New, born on July 17, 1960, passed away peacefully on June 30,
2024 in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, where he was born and raised.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Debra J. New, and his four children, Jason L.
Raulerson, Landon S. Raulerson (Amanda), Rachel L. Raulerson and William
(Caleb) Raulerson. He was a proud grandfather to Noah S. Raulerson, Sara J.
Raulerson and Jessica L. Raulerson, whom he adored. He is also survived by his
brother, Ronnie New (Shirley) and sister, Brenda Marrero (Ray), along with
numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie L. New and Margaret Coley New,
his brother, Robert New, sister, Janis Mullaly and her husband, Rev. Bobby
Mullaly.
Paul attended Paxon Senior High and was a devoted employee of Capitol Glass
and Aluminum Company for more than 20 years. He was passionate about
fishing and never happier than when in a boat on the water. Paul had a great
sense of humor and had a nickname for everyone he knew and loved. He was
devoted to his family and worked hard to provide a good life for them. His love
for his grandchildren was only matched by his love for his cat, Casper, also
nicked named by him as “Pretty Boy”.
A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life and memory will be held on July 13,
2024 at Cedar Bay Funeral Home located at 405 New Berlin RD, Jacksonville, FL
32218. The family will receive friends starting at 10 am in the chapel with the
service following at 11 am.
