Robert Joseph Brennan, Jr., 77, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022. He was born February 16, 1945, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to the late Robert Joseph Brennan, Sr., and Mary (Breen) Brennan. He grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts and graduated from Somerville High School in 1962. He was drafted during the Vietnam War and joined the United States Navy in 1965. While in the service, he experienced and saw the world. He met the love of his life, Cora, while stationed in the Philippines. They were married in 1978. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he spent the rest of his life. He had a 44-year career with the United States Navy. He retired as Command Master Chief after 24 years of active service. He then spent another 20 years with the Navy Personnel Service Detachment with the ESO. He loved his bride, his family, singing, cruises, the Red Sox, the Patriots, and summers in New Hampshire. He was a devout Catholic and followed God. He was a true family man. He lived a full and extraordinary life.
He leaves behind Corazon, his wife of 44 years; four sons, Jay, Neil, Glen, and Chad; daughter-in-law, Rebekah, three grandchildren, Kaylin, Austin, and Hailey; and many relatives in New England.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd in Jacksonville at 12:30 pm with Reverend Rafael Lavilla, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
