Robert Jerry Mullaly

Robert Jerry Mullaly, age 69, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. He was born December 23, 1954, to the late Herbert A. Mullaly Sr. & Laverne (Baxley) Mullaly in Jacksonville, FL. From the beginning of his life the hand of the Lord was upon him and carried him through many trials and experiences. He often said, as a boy he couldn’t even curse if he tried. At the age of 14 he gave his life to the Lord, at the age of 15 he met the love of his life Janis (New) Mullaly. While he was praying for her to come to know Jesus he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Shortly after, the Lord called him into ministry. At the age of 16, he married his love and started working in ministry at Garden City Church of God as Sunday School Superintendent. From 1971 – 1984 he served in different churches, preaching, teaching, leading, and doing anything he could to serve in ministry. In 1984, he received a call that a church needed a pastor, he and his father-in-law, Bennie New, went to the church, prayed over it, and asked for God’s direction. In that season of life, the Lord placed Robert Mullaly as pastor of Calvary Temple Church of God, where he served faithfully for 39.5 years. If there were one word to describe him, it would be restorer. If he wasn’t fully involved in restoring people for the kingdom of God, he was spending his spare time restoring homes and lives for many people around Jacksonville and North Florida. He started his own Contracting business in 1994 and never stopped striving to do all he could for his community and city. Through that he cultivated many relationships, staying true and steadfast to who he was in Christ. If he wasn’t preaching, teaching, restoring, or working, then you would find him calling his nephews, nieces, and family to make sure they were doing well. He always felt that family was the most important thing. He did all he could to be a father, brother, uncle, leader, and any other role that was needed for ALL of his family far and wide.

Robert Jerry Mullaly was preceded in death by his Wife, Janis New Mullaly; Father, Herbert A. Mullaly Sr.; Mother, Laverne Mullaly; Brother, Herbert A. Mullaly Jr.; Sister, Martha Mullaly Conger and Brother, Edward D Mullaly Sr.   Survivors include his daughters, Charity Mullaly and Robin Mullaly; a host of nephews & nieces (many of whom he called his Sons and Daughters to everyone he met).

Visitation will be held at the Marietta Church of God, 8076 Ramona Blvd. W., Jacksonville, FL 32221 on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronnie Jarman officiating.  Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park @ 3 p.m. Gathering of friends and family will take place at Garden City Church of God following all services located at 10765 Lem Turner RD, Jacksonville, FL.
