After a long illness, and with family gathered around her, Sandra peacefully passed over into the arms of Jesus on September 9, 2024. Sandra was born on September 7, 1938 to George G McKenney and Mary Irene McKenney in Chattanooga, TN.
She was married to the love of her life, George M Wilson, for 61 years. After raising children, she decided to return to school and earn her high school diploma. She was a woman who, once she set her mind to a task, completed it. Before acquiring that diploma, she had to learn to read. Completing all this in just four years, she graduated salutatorian of her class. Additionally, she loved singing, took voice lessons and sang solos for her church in earlier years. She was an inspiring example for anyone who lacked self-esteem. Making friends came easy to her, but of all her attributes, she loved her Lord Jesus the most.
Sandra is predeceased by her mother, father, grandson, Justin Wilson (who they helped raise).
She leaves behind her husband, children: Talesa (Glenn) Lloyd, Carl (Ruth) Dennis, Mark (Tannya) Wilson, Kim Hawkins (Kenneth Lloyd); grandchildren: Christian, Cass, Aaron (Amy), Leah (Isaac), Nathan (Nicole), Mark Jr (Sandra), Stephen, Lilly, Jimmy and 14 great-grand children.
