Stanley "Stan" Dean Pope

Stanley “Stan” Dean Pope passed away peacefully on October 15, 2018. Stan was born in Jacksonville, FL, December 26, 1963, graduating from Victory Christian Academy in 1982 and later attending the University of North Florida. Stanley was currently an IT Supervisor at CSX. He previously worked for Bell South in both Atlanta and Charlotte.
Although an astute computer “geek” and humorist, Stan still loved the outdoors being with his many friends and loyal co-workers. An adventurous individual, Stan loved hiking, fishing, scuba diving and caving (earlier in life), going to the “JAGS” football games and rock concerts.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, James & Jean Pope and is survived by his wife, Rebecca Franz (Lawton, OK); his sister, Glenda Anne (Pope) Pember (Jerry) of Jacksonville, FL; his brother James A Pope, Jr (Becky) of Jacksonville, FL, his nephew Jay Pope of Jacksonville, Fl and niece Haley Pope of Gainesville, Fl ; his step-daughter, Janice Theodore, of Cummings, GA, and was Godfather to Kiara Mara of Atlanta GA., and  Isabella Theodore of Cummings GA ; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins and a legion of friends.
A memorial service will be held @ Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 on Monday, October 22, 2018 @ 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning @ 10:00 a.m. Officiating, Dr. Jerry Pember.
