Tony Eugene Eggers, Sr.

Tony Eugene Eggers, Sr., 74, passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2022. He was born in Greenup, Illinois in 1947 and has lived in Jacksonville since 1972. He was a Veteran and served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict, and received the Purple Heart, Commendation Medal and the Combat infantry badge. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary, adopted father, Bob Eggers, his children’s mother Juanita, and sister, Helen. Survivors include his wife Wanda Eggers; son Tony Eggers, Jr; daughter, Stacie Eggers, step daughter, Tonette ; his cousin and best friend Earl Sparks; longtime friend Jim Haynes;  brother, Richard, sisters, Mary Ellen, Wanda Kay, and Anita; 3 grandchildren, his loving pet (Precious), and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening May 31, 2022 from 5pm until 7pm at Cedar Bay Funeral Home 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Fl. Interment will be on Wednesday June 1, 2022 at 11:30am in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 10:30am for an escort to the National Cemetery. Tony requested for ever one to dress casual.
