William Robert Kea, 84 went home to be with the lord on Saturday, August 26, 2023. He was born in Waynesboro Tennessee on March 20, 1939, to the late William Raymon Kea and Ruby Nell (Stockard) Kea. He is preceded in death by his wife Gloria (Nichols) Kea, his son William Robert Kea Jr, and brother Raymon Harold Kea.
Survivors; Brother Larry (Norma) Kea, sister Hilda (Jim) Haygood, daughter Subrina (David) Cameron, grandson Brandon (Lauren) Cameron, granddaughter Candace Kea, Emily (Travis) Orr, sister-in-law Jennifer (Boyd) Kea, great-grand children Conner, Colton, Carter, Brystal, Sicilia & Logan.
Robert joined the Navy in 1957 and was stationed in Jacksonville Florida. He worked for Riverside Chevrolet and John Diehl Chevrolet. He owned several businesses which include K & K Auto Parts, Truck Frame and Axle, M & K Auto Parts, and Lake City Speedway.
Robert enjoyed being around his family and friends. Especially his grandbabies. He also had a love for racing. He owned several race cars driven by several different drivers. He was inducted into the Jacksonville Stock Car Hall of Fame in 2009 and also received the Benny Corbin Achievement Award in 2016. When he was inducted into the Hall of Fame he said “If I had it to do over again I wouldn’t change anything. I was blessed to be a part of a racing family which I love so much. May God Bless All. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. in Jacksonville National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. The visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville.
