William D Moore, called Bill, was born on November 10, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio. Son of William J Moore, secretary to the Governor of Ohio and to the former Julia McDonough, A practicing nurse in Columbus. Bill was educated in the Catholic schools of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and received degrees from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Virginia Law School. After service in the US Army in 1958, he practiced law in Jacksonville and other Florida cities. He represented state and local governments in Florida and at intervals partnered in private law firms. He served as an attorney in 1968 in the legal and legislative consolidation of the City of Jacksonville and Duval County, and later as staff attorney for the new consolidated government. He was the editor of the first Charter Laws of the Consolidated Government of the City of Jacksonville, 1970, and later edited chapters Antieu: On Local Government, Matthew Bender Company of New York. His outside interests included single engine airplane and glider flying, sailing, motor boating, cross-country motorcycling, and travel to Vietnam, Europe, and Central America. He was married from 1982 to 1997 to the former Jayne Keuling of Tallahassee, Florida. Bill died at his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his brother, James Moore of Swannona North Carolina, his best friend and caretaker Barbara and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 22nd , 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11757 Old Saint Augustine Road, Jacksonville Florida.
